Cookies Policy

This policy tells you how we use cookies, why and how it allows us to maintain and improve our website. It tells you how you can manage cookies.

By accessing our website through any device you agree that this Cookies Policy applies to that use in addition to our normal website terms of use.

We may update our Cookies Policy at any time – any changes made will appear here and become effective immediately. Your continued use of this website is taken as meaning that you agree to any such changes.

What are cookies?

Cookies are files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to the device you use when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies do lots of different and useful jobs, such as remembering your preferences, and generally improving your online experience.

Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies. A persistent cookie consists of a text file sent by a web server to a web browser, which will be stored by the browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date (unless deleted by the user before the expiry date). A session cookie, on the other hand, will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.

What if I don’t want to accept cookies?

Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies. For example:

(1) in Internet Explorer you can refuse all cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Internet Options”, “Privacy”, and selecting “Block all cookies” using the sliding selector

(2) in Firefox you can block all cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Options”, and un-checking “Accept cookies from sites” in the “Privacy” box.

Blocking all cookies will, however, have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites.

Please be aware that some pages including shopping facilities will simply not function if your browser does not accept cookies.

To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to block, manage and delete them, please visit www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/.
